Drogba Sends Congratulatory Message To Liverpool Star As His “Legend In The Making” Prediction Comes True

Ex-Chelsea striker Didier Drogba has congratulated Mo Salah after he scored his 200th goal for Liverpool on Saturday afternoon.

The Egyptian international’s deflected effort found its way past Crystal Palace goalkeeper Sam Johnstone for the Reds’ equaliser in the 2-1 win at Selhurst Park. After reaching the milestone, Drogba posted on X praising his former teammate, as he also referenced a tweet he sent out in 2017 predicting his rise to legendary status:

Salah was only halfway through his first season at Anfield when Drogba sent out that original post, which does tell you the Ivorian already believed that Liverpool had a special player on their hands.

Klopp has also paid tribute to Salah

After his goal and assist proved crucial against Palace at the weekend, manager Jurgen Klopp expressed his admiration for what the 31-year-old has achieved in a Reds shirt:

“Incredible number for a super-special, super, super-special player. I don’t know how often he saved us with a goal he scored in the right moment.”

Will Salah stay at Liverpool beyond the summer?

After Al-Ittihad had a £100m+ bid rejected in September, speculation about the Egyptian’s future has dissipated somewhat, but Saudi Arabian clubs are believed to have maintained their interest in the forward.

The Reds will have to make a decision on Salah’s future at the end of the season. He will have just a year left on his contract, so there will be talks about a potential extension. Considering the riches on offer from the Middle East, though, there will be a temptation to sell.

However, despite already becoming a legend at the club, the player may still want to stay as he chases down more records.
