Liverpool left-back Alberto Moreno is close to signing a pre-contract agreement with Lazio, according to reports.

The Spaniard has been pictured in Rome with friend and former teammate Lucas Leiva, who currently plays for the Serie A club.

As Moreno is out of contract at the end of the season, there is no obligation for him to tell Liverpool about his plans.

However, reports in the local media have indicated that the Reds are not looking to offer the 26-year-old a new deal and are relaxed about the player’s situation.

The Merseyside club could have sold Moreno to Napoli for £11m last summer but the bid was rejected. Instead, the Spaniard looks set to run down his contract and leave on a free transfer.

Moreno is also interesting the likes of Real Betis, former club Sevilla and Roma but it appears that Lazio are the frontrunners for his signature.

The fullback has only made five appearances for Liverpool this season, making just two starts in the Premier League.
