Liverpool are one of a number of Premier League clubs who are “very hot” on RB Leipzig forward Lois Openda, according to Belgian journalist Sacha Tavolieri.
The 23-year-old scored a brace in the 3-2 defeat to Manchester City on Tuesday evening and, following his display, Tavolieri said:
🇧🇪⭐️ What an amazing performance of Loïs Openda during this first half. Belgian striker’s adapting perfectly with the type of play that fits with #RBLeipzig…
⚡️ The transfer market in Premier League already very hot on him, as #LFC.

With Openda being a Belgian international, it’s likely that Tavolieri does have the inside scoop on the potential transfer.
After scoring 13 goals in 20 appearances for Leipzig since his £39m move from Lens last summer, it is not a surprise that Liverpool and other Premier League teams are keeping an eye on his progress.
Which other English clubs could rival Liverpool for Openda?
Reports in the Spanish media in recent weeks have named Chelsea and Manchester United as potential suitors for the striker.
The Blues, in particular, are said to be in the market for a new No.9, although many believe that their top target is Napoli’s Victor Osimhen. United, meanwhile, are likely to prioritise reinforcements in the centre of defence.
Openda does have a release clause
Bild‘s chief reporter Christian Falk revealed in his Daily Briefing column at the start of October that the Belgian does have a buyout fee in his contract.
However, the journalist said that it is a “bit higher” than the €80m (£69m) that has been quoted by some other sources. He also added that the clause doesn’t come into effect until the summer of 2025, which is the best part of 18 months away.
