Pundit Makes Big Claim About 72M United Target’s Interest In Moving To PL Rivals

Barcelona midfielder Frenkie de Jong wouldn’t be “as against” making a switch to the Premier League if Liverpool, Manchester City or Chelsea had made a bid for him, according to Gabriel Agbonlahor.

Manchester United have reportedly agreed an €85m (£72m) fee for the Dutchman but he is believed to be reluctant to make the switch to Old Trafford. However, Agbonlahor claims the situation would be different if he were being pursued by Jurgen Klopp’s side:

“If this was Liverpool or Manchester City or even Chelsea, I don’t think he would be as against it.”

There are reports that de Jong would prefer to make a move to a team that is playing in the Champions League, so Agbonlahor’s comments are justified to an extent.

Liverpool are said to be on the lookout for a midfielder, although the chances of them getting involved in the de Jong deal are very low indeed. The Reds are expected to wait until next year before making a bold play for Borussia Dortmund’s Jude Bellingham.
