Liverpool’s Fabinho has taken to the centre-back role like a duck to water and he was in excellent form against Spurs last night.
In one moment, though, he showed that his instincts as a midfielder haven’t left him as he ghosted past two Tottenham players to progress the ball down the left wing:

Fabinho’s ability to play in multiple positions and not look out of place makes him a tremendous asset for manager Jurgen Klopp. Unsurprisingly, supporters on Twitter have been praising the Brazilian international:

Considering he also had to guide Rhys Williams through his Premier League debut, Fabinho could not have done a lot more going up against the most deadly attacking duo in the league.
Son Heung-Min may have scored and Harry Kane had a couple of good chances but, as part of a makeshift centre-back partnership, Fabinho looked solid and played a big part in securing a vital 2-1 win.
