REPORT: Liverpool And Premier League Rival Are ‘Willing To Pay’ 22M For The Next Pedri

Liverpool and Aston Villa are both “willing to pay” €25m (£22m) for Las Palmas attacking midfielder Alberto Moleiro, according to Mundo Deportivo.

The Catalan newspaper claims that Barcelona were originally favourites to secure the teenager’s signature. They had agreed to pay €10m (£8.9m) upfront with another €15m (£13.3m) in add-ons.

However, Las Palmas Miguel Angel Ramirez is believed to have told Barca that he wanted the full €25m (£22m) instead, which led to negotiations collapsing.

Other teams, including Real Madrid, Arsenal and Manchester City have also been credited with an interest in Moleiro but it appears Liverpool and Villa are the two teams prepared to match Las Palmas’s price tag.

The 19-year-old has been labelled the next Pedri, having come through the same youth system as the Barcelona star, but he is not currently performing at the same level.

Moleiro has had a decent season for Las Palmas in the Spanish second tier, having racked up eight assists in 29 league appearances.
