Serie A Giants Tipped To Hijack Liverpool’s 8M Summer Transfer

AC Milan are “following” Fulham attacking midfielder Fabio Carvalho and could try and muscle in on Liverpool’s attempts to sign the teenager, according to Calciomercato.com.

The Italian website says that, while the Reds remain in pole position to snap up the player, Milan could potentially offer Carvalho first-team football straight away which could tempt him into making a switch to the San Siro instead.

Carvalho’s move to Anfield collapsed on deadline day last month, despite an £8m fee having been agreed for the 19-year-old, but Liverpool are still confident that a deal can be done ahead of the summer.

With the England youth international’s contract expiring, though, he can already speak to foreign clubs such as Milan, with the Serie A side only having to pay £300,000 in compensation.

Other teams, such as Chelsea, Borussia Dortmund and Bayern Munich have also been linked with Carvalho, but Liverpool are hoping their determination to sign him will help get a deal over the line before they are beaten to the punch.
