Bayern Munich defender Benjamin Pavard “wants to leave” the Bundesliga champions, according to Sky Germany reporter Florian Plettenberg.
A report a few days ago claimed that Liverpool, Manchester United, Barcelona and a number of other teams had made enquiries about the World Cup winner’s availability, and Plettenberg now believes the player will be open to offers:
💥 News #Pavard: He wants to leave FC Bayern in summer confirmed! And he doesn’t want to extend his contract beyond 2024. Pavard has already informed the club about his decision.

As Plettenberg says, Pavard only has a year left on his contract, so Bayern are expected to sell the France international this summer.
It should be noted that the 27-year-old has been weighing up whether to leave Germany for quite some time, having expressed an interest in moving countries when he was linked with Chelsea last year. A transfer to the Premier League, therefore, appears to be a genuine possibility.
Do Liverpool need a player like Pavard?
Based on the Reds’ 4-4 draw against Southampton on the final day, you do feel that they could improve their options in the centre of defence. Neither Joe Gomez nor Joel Matip has performed well this season so Pavard may be a potential replacement for one of them.
The Frenchman is also a capable fullback, so he could provide cover for Trent Alexander-Arnold on the right flank as well.
