‘Take That Money And Run!’ ‘Snap Their Hand Off’ Fans Call On Liverpool To Sell Star For 22M After Approach Is Made

West Ham have made an approach for Liverpool attacking midfielder Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, according to reports in the English media.

The Reds are said to value the 27-year-old at around £22m and, considering he hasn’t played that much this season, supporters on Twitter would like the club to sell the player if the Hammers make an offer close to his asking price:

Oxlade-Chamberlain has had a succession of injury problems since his £35m move from Arsenal in 2017, and he has struggled to make an impact after being sidelined with a knee injury at the beginning of the campaign.

Manager Jurgen Klopp has started him in just two matches in all competitions, with only 15 appearances in total, so cashing in now does seem like a sensible decision.

Whether West Ham would be willing to pay the £22m that the Reds are asking for, though, it remains to be seen. It seems like a reasonable figure as although the Merseyside club would be taking a £13m hit, the financial impact of the global health crisis means player valuations have depreciated.
