The Top 5 Goalscorers For Liverpool In The Premier League Era

Anfield Stadium

Liverpool have had some extraordinary players during the Premier League era, and when it comes to the top five goalscorers each one of them has left an indelible mark on the club.

However, there are some surprising names that haven’t made the list. Fernando Torres scored 65 league goals during his four years at Anfield but he doesn’t make the five.

Others such as Dirk Kuyt, Daniel Sturridge and Sadio Mane also miss out, despite all three having scored over 50 plus goals for the Reds in the Premier League.

Press the “next page” as we count down the most prolific scorers in the league for Liverpool since 1992.

5) Luis Suarez (69)

The Uruguayan actually started off pretty slowly in terms of his goalscoring. He managed just 15 league goals during his first 18 months with the Merseyside club.

However, that all changed in 2012/13 season when Suarez scored 23 before reaching his peak by bagging 31 in the 2013/14 campaign.

4) Mohamed Salah (70)

The Egyptian international made an extraordinary impact when he first arrived from Roma in 2017, scoring 32 league goals in his first season with Liverpool.

Salah went on to win the golden boot in his second campaign at the club as well, and he has scored 16 goals so far this season.

3) Michael Owen (118)

The Chester born forward was a goal machine during his early years as a player, but he cut his time short at the club by moving to Real Madrid in 2005.

Owen’s reputation has been tarnished somewhat by his decision to move to Manchester United later on in his career but there is no denying he was a quality finisher.

2) Steven Gerrard (120)

The Liverpool legend spent 17 years in the club’s first team so it is not a surprise the midfielder is so high up on the list.

Gerrard scored some wonderful goals in his 504 Premier League appearances, and his goal record is certainly very impressive considering his position on the pitch.

1) Robbie Fowler (128)

The Toxteth born striker was not labelled ‘God’ by the Kop for nothing. His first spell with the Reds has gone down in legend, having scored 83 goals in his first four seasons as a first-team player.

Injuries and a falling out with management reduced his match time and he was eventually sold to Leeds. However, he did return for a second spell in 2006, scoring eight goals in two seasons under Rafa Benitez before moving on once again.
