Liverpool are interested in signing Napoli winger Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, according to journalist Ciro Venerato.
The Georgian international is currently locked in talks over a contract extension but Venerato claims an agreement is not close and there are plenty of teams keeping an eye on the player’s situation:
“Kvara’s renewal, at the moment, is still on the high seas: the player wants a raise, which is delaying its arrival, but he will not leave Napoli, with De Laurentiis proposing a mega salary to postpone his transfer to 2025. A release clause could also be inserted for him, as happened with Osimhen. The number 77 is followed by big clubs, such as Barcelona, Chelsea, Liverpool and PSG.”
Fans on X are split on whether the Reds should consider pursuing Kvaratskhelia, with some believing that the club should keep faith with Luis Diaz:
We need him

Italian newspapers are waffling a lot today it seems 🤣 Kvara has been really inconsistent this season, but anyway we don't need him at all and i'm not even sure if his style can match with the intensity of the Premier League

Both Kvaratskhelia and Diaz have identical records this season
If we compare the Georgian’s performances to Liverpool’s current left winger Luis Diaz, there isn’t anything between them. The two players have 15 goal contributions this campaign.
However, it must be pointed out that Kvaratskhelia had a better record last year (14 goals and 17 assists in all competitions).
Liverpool still need a sporting director to make decisions
While Head of Recruitment Dave Fallows and Chief Scout Barry Hunter are currently spearheading the club’s transfer business, neither will be making the final call on who the Reds will buy this summer.
It is believed that a new sporting director will be appointed soon but, at this moment, there is no definite answer on whether Kvaratskhelia will be a target.
