“Would be Stupid Not To Go” Sutton Backs 136 PL Goal Striker For Liverpool Switch

BBC pundit Chris Sutton has backed Tottenham striker Harry Kane to make a move to either Liverpool or Manchester City if the opportunity arises.

The Spurs star has made it known that he won’t stay at his current club forever if he can’t win trophies, and Sutton thinks the England captain would be unwise to turn down a move to one of the country’s top two teams:

“Spurs are a brilliant club, but at this moment in time, they are way behind the likes of Liverpool and Manchester City. If one of those clubs came in for him, if you were Harry Kane you would be stupid not to go.”

Kane has been valued at £150m by some in the media, and if he were to be available for such an amount, Liverpool would have to think long and hard about making an offer.

In the main, the Reds have been reluctant to pay excess amounts for players, with the Merseyside club unwilling to break the bank to bring back Philippe Coutinho from Barcelona last summer.

Liverpool’s owners FSG have made exceptions for important players, though, such as the £75m shelled out on Virgil van Dijk, and considering Kane’s goalscoring ability (he has 136 Premier League goals to his name), it would certainly be a good investment if he were to become available.
