Britain’s Richest Man Tipped To Make Offer For Liverpool After Club Is Put Up For Sale

Sir Jim Ratcliffe is likely to be one of the potential bidders for Liverpool, according to reports in the English media.

Britain’s richest man already owns Ligue One side Nice but he has previously spoken out about his desire to own a Premier League club.

Ratcliffe has expressed an interest in buying both Chelsea and Manchester United in the past, having watched both teams as a fan growing up, but he has no previous affiliation with Liverpool.

The Reds current owners, Fenway Sports Group, have put out a statement saying they are looking for investors, but they stopped short of stating that the club has been put up for sale.

Various reports have confirmed, however, that FSG have instructed US banks Goldman Sachs and JP Morgan to find potential bidders. $5bn is said to be the asking price so we shall see if Ratcliffe or other interested parties match the valuation.
