Liverpool Must Pay ‘Well Over’ 84.5M If They Want To Sign Player Who Roy Keane Describes As Having “Scary” Potential

Liverpool will have to pay “well over” €100m (£84.5m) if they want to secure the services of Borussia Dortmund midfielder Jude Bellingham, according to BILD (via Sport Witness).

The German tabloid have revealed that Real Madrid have entered the race to sign the England international but they will face competition from the Reds, who retain a strong interest in the player.

Bellingham is very highly rated, with even the notoriously hard to please Roy Keane describing him as having “scary” potential back in November.

The 18-year-old’s asking price does, however, mean that Jurgen Klopp’s side may not be looking to make a deal happen this summer. It is believed an offer in 2023 is a more realistic proposition, when Dortmund may be more amenable.

The Bundesliga side are reluctant to lose Erling Haaland and Bellingham in the same year, and that means the latter’s valuation is very high.

Whether other teams will take advantage of Liverpool’s reticence, it remains to be seen. Manchester United, Manchester City and Chelsea have also been mentioned as potential suitors in the past.
