Liverpool And Arsenal Join United In ‘Chasing’ 13 Goal Dutch Ace But They Will Have To Put £51M ‘On The Table’

Liverpool are “chasing” Borussia Dortmund winger Donyell Malen, according to Bild.

The German tabloid claim that the Dutchman has been on the Reds’ radar “several times” in the past but they could make another attempt to secure his services this summer.

Malen has been in good form this season, having scored 13 goals and provided 5 assists in 33 appearances for Dortmund.

Those displays have clearly led to the Merseyside club reviving their interest in the 25-year-old, who was reportedly a target even before he moved to the Bundesliga almost three years ago.

Two other Premier League teams are also interested in Malen

Bild report that Arsenal and Manchester United are weighing potential bids for the Netherlands international as well.

The Red Devils were previously linked with Malen in the January transfer window when there were claims that the forward could be used in a swap deal for Jadon Sancho.

With Dortmund keen to keep the England star, they may well be open to sending Malen in the other direction.

It should be pointed out that the winger is also a former Arsenal academy graduate, so that may explain why the Gunners have been keeping tabs on him.

Liverpool will have to pay a sizeable fee to sign the player

It is believed that the Reds would have to put €60m/£51m “on the table” in order to persuade Dortmund into selling Malen. The Bundesliga side don’t have many sellable assets so they are expected to demand a significant sum if a team does make an approach for the Dutchman.

Considering Malen plays most of his football on the right wing, it stands to reason that he may be one of the options being considered to replace Mo Salah. The Egyptian international will have just a year left on his contract at the end of the season.
