Liverpool are “monitoring” Barcelona midfielder Gavi’s contract situation, according to Goal reporter Neil Jones.
The reliable journalist claims the Spanish international is being considered as a summer transfer target, along with Borussia Dortmund’s Jude Bellingham:

Gavi signed a contract (which included a €1 billion/£880 million release clause) back in September but the deal has been rescinded by La Liga.
Barca have failed to stay under their salary cap and it means they cannot register the Spanish international for games unless he reverts to the terms of his original deal.
That contract is set to expire at the end of the season, which means that Liverpool and other major European clubs would have the opportunity to sign Gavi on a free transfer.
Whether that will happen in reality, though, it still seems unlikely. Gavi can already negotiate with other teams but he may hold out until the summer when Barcelona will be able to offload players and reduce their wage bill. The renegotiated contract could, therefore, be reinstated once that happens.
